Seriously? You needed a doctor for this?
Let me get this straight. I open my news feed and see a headline in MARCA that almost makes me die laughing. "Doctor Aldo Martínez presents 'Strength, elixir of life': 'Strength training is not an aesthetic whim'".
Wait, wait. Are you telling me it's 2026 and we still need a guy in a white coat to tell us that lifting weights is good for more than just taking pictures in the gym mirror? You've got to be kidding me! I've been, for years, YEARS!, shouting this from the rooftops while you were more concerned with counting calories and doing cardio until you passed out.
"It's not an aesthetic whim." Seriously, what a damn revelation. I thought everyone was killing themselves doing squats and deadlifts just so their jeans would fit well. Thank you, Doctor Aldo Martínez, for enlightening us. The next book, I suppose, will be "Water, elixir of hydration - drinking is not just for rinsing your mouth." 🙄
What MARCA doesn't tell you (because it's busy)
But the best part isn't the headline. The best part is that if you click on the "news," what do you find? Absolutely NOTHING about the book or the doctor. Zero. Not a single damn excerpt. Instead, you have an endless list of links about whether Míchel criticizes something or other, Doncic's 60 points, or the Huesca-Almería schedule.
It seems that explaining why strength is an "elixir of life" was less of a priority than the supercomputer predicting the Champions League. Good for you, MARCA! So we have a momentous headline, an expert quote... and then they leave you hanging with football. It's the perfect metaphor for how you treat your health - you read the headline, you find it interesting, and then you move on to the usual without doing absolutely anything. Lazy.
